Apple puree

This weekend I went to the market and bought apples to make apple puree.

5kg apples made 7 jars of 1  1/2 l apple puree.
As I used Elstar apples, there was no need of using additional sugar. The apples are really sweet themselves.
You cut the apples in pieces and remove the core. You can leave the peel on.
Then you cook the apple chunks with a little bit of water (ony the bottom of the pot has to be covered slightly) until they are cooked and soft. This takes about 15 minutes.
In the meantime you sterilize your jars and lids.

You then continue by filling a food mill with the cooked apple pieces and turn it around until all pieces are made to puree.
Fill the glasses with puree, close with lids and metal clips and cook the glasses for 30minutes on 90 degrees.
Let cool down and remove metal clips.
